The Chazen Foundation, which administers The Scholarship Project, was established in 1985 as a private foundation within the meaning of Section 509 (A) of the IRS Code. The Foundation usually does not consider unsolicited requests for funding and there is no request for proposals issued by the Foundation.
The Foundation limits giving to projects that are of special interest to the donors. The fields of interest of the Chazen Foundation over the past decade have been the following: museums, music, arts & cultural programs, higher education, hospitals, human services and Jewish agencies.
The types of aid that the Chazen Foundation has provided include grants to individuals, scholarships, general support and capital campaigns.
